EuroHPC Summit 2025: Connecting the HPC, Quantum, and AI Communities
From 18th to 20th March, 2025, the EuroHPC Summit 2025 was held at the ICE Congress Centre in Krakow, Poland – a prestigious event that brings together key players in the fields of high-performance computing (HPC), quantum computing, and artificial intelligence (AI). This year, the summit focused on uniting these communities, discussing the current state of the European HPC ecosystem, and showcasing innovations that will shape the future of supercomputing.
NCC BiH was represented by Adna Softić from the Verlab Institute and Faruk Bećirović from Verlab d.o.o., who actively engaged in discussions and also attended the meeting of all European NCCs. This meeting focused on the future and sustainability of the EuroCC2 project and the EuroCC4SEE initiative. The EuroHPC Summit 2025 provided an exceptional opportunity for knowledge exchange, networking, and planning future directions for the development of supercomputing, AI, and quantum technologies in Europe. The innovations presented and discussions about the future of HPC clearly indicate that Europe is actively working to strengthen its digital sovereignty and technological advancement. The participation of representatives from Bosnia and Herzegovina at this event confirms the region’s commitment to development and integration into the European innovation ecosystem, with a special focus on the application of HPC technologies in industry, science, and society.
The summit served as a platform to present various use cases of HPC technologies across Europe. Participants had the opportunity to gain insights into advanced weather simulations, personalized cancer treatments, as well as the role of HPC in industrial production and scientific research. Additionally, the potential of exascale computing and AI applications was demonstrated through the EuroHPC DemoLab and the Quantum Insights Tunnel. Participation of Representatives from Bosnia and Herzegovina For Bosnia and Herzegovina, the EuroHPC Summit 2025 marked a significant milestone, as representatives from the country participated in this prestigious event for the first time.
